Innovative By Nature saw 60 architects, engineers and guest speakers descend on the timber gridshell structure, which received the Wood Awards Gold Award in 2006 for its innovative roof design.
And as well as getting a first-hand look at the UK’s largest gridshell building, attendees got the chance to hear about a number of other timber-heavy projects, including the Princes Park eco-stadium in Dartford, Kent and Finnforest‘s own modular office in Espoo, Finland.
“The recent seminar at the Savill Building enabled us to help demonstrate the way timber can be used with other building materials to reduce costs, minimise waste and improve sustainability,” said head of marketing at Finnforest UK Warren Dudding..
