Fire has destroyed a large timber complex in the Sepanggar Bay port area of Malaysia.
The blaze at the complex, which is about 30km from Kota Kinabalu, took almost 10 hours to put out and resulted in the devastation of much of the Wangsa Timber Industries Sdn Bdh factory on September 11.
According to the company’s general manager Joseph Ong, the store where the company kept its timber products for export to Europe was razed to the ground.
He added: ‘I can’t put a figure on our losses. It will run into millions of ringgit though.’
