Forest Garden has announced a £2.5m investment at its Hartlebury site in a move which centralises its manufacturing and distribution activities.
The investment includes an additional 107,000ft² of manufacturing space, 10 acres of storage and the creation of an extra 100 jobs, making it the “largest manufacturing and distribution facility in the sector”, according to Forest Garden.
However, as a result, the company has announced it will be closing its Eardisley site which currently employs 150 people. The facility will cease operation on December 5, with the intervening time spent relocating to the Hartlebury site.
Forest Garden is seeking to transfer the best mix of skills to Hartlebury but said job losses, possibly in the region of 50, were likely.
