Organisers of this month’s Transport Symposium 17 have said that they are excited about this event “unlike any in our history”.
The biennial Transport Symposium, organised by the International Forest Products Transport Association (IFPTA) and RISI, an information provider for the global forest products industry, is to take place from October 15-17 in Mobile Bay, Alabama and will include talks and presentations from Weyerhaeuser Company, the American Association of Exporters and Importers, Sappi Trading and US Customs and Border Protection.
Delegates are to discuss key topics and issues affecting the forest products logistics, handling and storage sectors, with organisers noting that the three-day event will “feature panel discussions and speakers representing every corner of the forest products industry, bringing together the sharpest minds”.
“Transport Symposium continues to answer the challenges of the forest products logistics industry,” said IFPTA president Paul Doiron.
“We are very excited about this year’s programme, unlike any in our history.”
Samuel Jones, the mayor of Mobile, will open the international event, with John Day, RISI chief executive officer, Jim Lyons, director of the Alabama State Port Authority, and Mr Doiron also delivering speeches to delegates.
