Action to limit the damaging impacts of climate change is being urged by the Institute of Chartered Foresters following findings from a national conference it held earlier this year.
In its Position Statement on Climate Change, the Institute highlights the positive role trees and forests can play to mitigate global climate change and recommends that everyone, including government agencies, NGOs, woodland owners and local authorities, should review their conservation policies and tree and woodland strategies.
It also urges those involved in forestry and aboriculture to keep abreast of what is happening to the climate and ensure that trees and forests play their role to the full in the UK.
