Russel Matthews took the individual honours and the Beacon Bowl Trophy at the Foresters’ Golf Society meeting at Whiteleaf Golf Club, Buckinghamshire on October 21.

Mr Matthews, a forestry consultant, had a winning score of 32 Stableford points. In 2nd place, also on 32 points was John E Clegg of John Clegg & Co, with Chris Sparrow of Buccleuch third on 31 points.

Dale Mansell of South Staffordshire Council’s Arboricultural Services Division won the nearest the pin competition with a fine tee shot to about 3ft on the 18th hole.

The team event was won by John E Clegg, John Lockhart of Lockhart Garratt, David Shorthouse of Buccleuch and David Duncan of The Ruislip Woods Trust.

The Foresters’ Golf Society is open to anyone with a forestry interest, including owners, managers, agents, contractors, timber merchants, surveyors, and accountants.
