An on-screen grant calculator which helps people work out how much grant aid they are eligible for under the new Scottish Forestry Grants Scheme (SFGS) has been developed by Forestry Commission Scotland.

Based on a customised Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, the service will be available from June 16.

The calculator recognises reference numbers in the SFGS Standard Costs and Specifications booklet and when these are inserted along with relevant work quantitites the calculator works out the amount due.

Free half day workshops to explain the calculator are being held in Inverness, Dunkeld and Dumfries in June. For information visit www.forestry.gov.uk/scotland.
