The Forestry Commission has now implemented its increased plant health inspection fees.
The Timber Trade Federation lobbied against the higher charges on container inspections of imported timber as ill-timed and too high.
The charge have increased from £22.83 to £38 per container lot.
One response was received by the Forestry Commission to its consultation exercise on its charging changes.
The commission has identified separately, for the first time, charges for wood shavings, wood chip and sawdust to reflect new and developing markets.
