Gloucester-based Genesis Timber Engineering (GTE) Ltd has recorded a record-breaking end to the financial year, alongside major advances at its facility.

GTE, which manufactures glulam, roof trusses, metal web floor joists and other engineered wood products, achieved £30,000 of turnover during April, up 50% on its expected target.

It also recently received approval to the UK Timber Frame Association’s Q-Mark quality assurance scheme, after an assessment by TRADA, and maintained its Investors in People award following an inspection.

All three events coincided with the company’s fifth birthday in March.

“This couldn’t have been a better fifth birthday present for the company,” said sales director Simon Baldwin.

“Since we moved into our new Bristol Road premises two years ago, we’ve grown our business satisfyingly rapidly, with regional developers, self-builders, plus timber frame companies forming our core customer base.”

GTE also recently invested in a fork lift truck handling programme for its staff, which was passed by all.
