Two brothers who head Irish sawmiller Glennon Brothers have been shortlisted for the 2010 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Ireland.

Mike and Pat Glennon are among 24 finalists for the coveted award, which this year attracted 120 nominations.

Both men said they were delighted to make the shortlist in the industry category and said the €70m turnover company had managed to maintain its vision for growth despite operating in a challenging sector.

All finalists will feature in a three-part series to appear on Irish television channel RTE in October. The overall winner to be announced at a televised awards ceremony on October 21.

Glennon Brothers operates six companies in Ireland and the UK and employs more than 340 people directly and a further 170 indirectly in harvesting and haulage.
