BC Wood is planning its second Global Buyers Mission following on from the success of its first event held in September last year.

More than 50 Canadian value-added wood products manufacturers met with buyers from 12 countries at the three-day mission and Bill Downing, chief executive officer of the trade association, said its success outstripped expectations.

“International buyers learned about new products and new suppliers, and Canadian manufacturers forged new relationships with contacts from around the world.”

The buyers came from China, Japan, Korea, Europe, Canada and the US, while the Canadian manufacturers’ products included finishing materials, building supplies and remanufacturing products.
