Guernsey-based independent merchant Norman Piette Ltd has joined the Cemco merchant buying group.
Norman Piette is one of the oldest timber and builders merchants in Britain and operates Guernsey’s only timber mill.
As well as having merchanting operations, the company manufactures roof trusses, timber frame panels and open-web beam Ecojoists.
Last year it branched out to launch an Ecohomes division, providing timber frame and structural insulated panels (SIPs) to meet demand for more energy efficient homes.
Cemco now has 33 independents, with a total 155 branches, on its books.
