Wood recycling companies have new help at hand to aid them in developing successful marketing programmes for their added-value products.
The Waste & Resources Action Programme’s (WRAP) “Guide to Marketing Recycled Wood Products” is designed to help companies whose products are used as mulches, surfaces, animal bedding and renewable fuel for energy production.
The guide includes an assessment of business opportunities for recycled wood products, plus a section on how to develop and implement a marketing plan. Marketing tools are also examined, including advertising, direct mail, public relations, website development and sales promotion.
WRAP material development manager for wood Julia Turner said: “As recycling companies are often so busy with their core activities, WRAP felt it would be beneficial to create a guide that provided a straightforward look at all the key elements of marketing.”
