The company says it has relocated to the 35,000ft2 factory in Keighley from its 5,000ft2 Crossflatts premises “ to underpin business expansion potential”.

Particularly strong prospects are seen in the company’s burgeoning specialism in bar manufacturing and pub fittings and in the double-glazed timber window market.

The investment in the window plant follows an agreement with German scantlings producer Holz Schiller to produce its double-glazed designs using its “maintenance-free” laminated timber components and special jointing system.

“The windows incorporate a patented timber system, featuring closed mitred joints, which makes them totally weather-proof,” said Hallidays technical director Bill Robertson. “All are pre-finished using laminated timber which guarantees no warping, shrinkage or rotting, and are finished with a washable coating. No painting is required.”

He added that Hallidays has also been licensed to produce Easy Long Life tilt and open window ranges and other Holz Schiller laminated products, including doors.

Hallidays managing director David Halliday said that the relocation and investment is the “biggest single development” in the company’s 27-year history. He added that it expected to double its 19-strong workforce in 18 months.
