Perth-based Highfield Forestry has acquired an additional 10,000ha of forest management in Scotland and Wales from Danish investors.
Highfield managing director Iain Peddie said: “Since we entered the forest management market three years ago we have been looking for opportunities to expand. Whilst we have been successful in acquiring woods by forming forest partnerships and by attracting new first-time forest buyers, the acquisition of the Dan Forestry portfolio is a major step forward.”
He said the Danish portfolio was one of a very few to increase in value over the past five years and Danish resident Bent Also is to join Highfield’s board of directors.
