Mr Svensson has a degree in chemical engineering and during his career he has worked as a sales representative and head of sales for chemicals group Dow Corning. He became the CEO of engineering company Bengtssons Maskin in 2000. His first appointment at Södra was as the president of Gapro (now Södra Interiör) in 2005. He was appointed director of forestry at Södra in 2011.
Mr Svensson will continue in both of his current roles until a new director of forestry is appointed.
