The architects, SMC Corstophine & Wright, worked closely with English Heritage to ensure the new 25,000ft2 building would blend in with its historic surroundings – including extensive timber decking at the rear.

Part of the John Brash Group, HLD recommended its Antislip Plus, a timber decking surface designed to ensure timber boards retain their necessary grip in wet conditions.

The Stoneleigh project required almost 3,500 linear metres of Antislip decking, in a difficult installation where the curved pieces of decking and steps had to be calculated and fitted to precise tolerances due to the possible contraction of the timber.
