Landscape timber engineering company HLD Ltd has helped Suffolk County Council complete a flagship school building project which promotes sustainability.
The Gainsborough-based firm supplied a boardwalk with anti-slip decking, planters, steps and a retaining wall system at the new timber frame Beaumont Primary School in Hadleigh.
HLD also made a gazebo to provide shade and a quiet play area, plus a covered cycle rack, as the council wants to encourage children to cycle to school.
The school features western red cedar cladding, a sedum roof and breathable external walls filled with insulation made of recycled newspaper.
