Housing minister John Healey will tackle the subject of housing supply on the opening day of the Ecobuild conference on March 2.

Mr Healey’s address will be one of the sessions in a programme that tackles key concerns of the design and construction sector, including achieving sustainability in a downturn and making refurbushment of existing housing stock a priority.

Panellists on the day debating housing supply will include Sir Bob Kerslake, CEO of the Homes and Communities Agency and Yolande Barnes, Savills’ director of research, while other subjects will be tackled by Joan Ruddock, minister of state (department of energy & climate change), Richard Simmons, CEO of CABE and former RIBA president Sunand Prasad.

More than 1,000 exhibitors and 100 free seminars will feature at this year’s Ecobuild on March 2-4 at Earl’s Court.
