No news on Mr Prisk’s replacement was yet forthcoming from Number 10. Mr Prisk showed his disappointment on his Twitter page, saying: “Been asked to step aside from Housing for younger generation. Disappointing but it’s been a great 11 years on [frontbench].” Mr Prisk had only been in the position for 12 months.
Chloe Smith, minister with responsibility for construction at the Cabinet Office, is also on the move after resigning her position to concentrate on her role as MP for Norwich North.
