UK kitchen giant Howdens is distributing free tool marking kits to help tradespeople suffering from increased tool thefts.
Howdens said it is distributing free tool marking kits to tradespeople at two depots in Kent – at Gillingham and Strood – on June 18 as a move to help prevent tool theft in the area.
“We know that tool theft is a growing problem and a massive disruption for our trade customers,” said Will Hallett, regional director at Howdens.
He said self-employed tradespeople rely on having the right tools to complete their jobs.
The pilot tool marking scheme aims to give tradespeople reassurance and more protection. Each toolkit can be used to mark up to 50 pieces of equipment.
Howdens is also offer in trade customers discounts on selected products, including joinery and doors.
