When Mr Gale left UPM-Kymmene, where he was managing director of UPM’s UK operations, at the end of May, he also stepped down as the chairman of the industry campaign to promote timber’s use in the London 2012 Olympics.
A spokesperson for Wood for Gold told TTJ that “someone had been approached and he is sorting out his current position before he confirmed whether he would take the role”.
