Irish timber frame manufacturer IJM has closed its production facility in Castlecomer.

The Monaghan-based company confirmed the closure and said many staff had already been placed on temporary release earlier this year.

The Castlecomer factory, along with IJM’s Monaghan and Armagh operations, completed a 186 timber lodge contract earlier this year for the Bluestone leisure park in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Timber frame manufacturing has been hit by the slowdown in the Irish construction industry.
