More than 400 tons of illegal timber worth about M$100,000 has been seized by the Sarawak Forestry Corporation.

A total of 389 logs, 18 tons of sawn timber, two lorries, two excavators and a motorised barge used for illegal logging were confiscated by corporation officials.

An illegal sawmill was also shut down and logging stopped in the Balingian water catchment area. Four people have been arrested.
