A new ultra energy-efficient building at Sheffield Hallam University features western red cedar solar shading system from Levolux.
The 27 untreated timber fins are installed horizontally to the front-glazed entrance and stairwell area of the £1.5m Post Experience Development facilities, built within the city’s Collegiate Crescent conservation area.
According to Levolux, the shade will not need maintenance and the timber will be left to silver naturally with age.
The building is also part-clad in western red cedar.
