Indian foresters have been on a fact-finding mission to see how Forestry Commission Wales manages its forests.

Seven senior foresters from Karnataka in south-west India came on a day visit as part of a three-month study at the University of Wales in Bangor.

Harvesting operations were visited, along with a large Douglas fir stand at Ty’n Groes, while Forestry Commission Wales officials explained how restocking programmes worked.

Karnataka’s 14,950 square miles of forest is almost twice the size of Wales.
