Indonesian’s outspoken forestry minister Muhammad Prakosa is due to visit the UK in early February.
Mr Prakosa is expected to meet ministers from the department for international development and the department for the environment, food and rural affairs to discuss the Memorandum of Understanding signed with Britain on illegal logging.
The minister will also speak to the Timber Trade Federation (TTF) and its members who are sponsoring the Scoping Study into the feasibility of setting up third pary auditing of 10 indonesian mills.
A draft report on the study, conducted by the Topical Forests Trust, is expected to be published in the coming days, with TTF sponsors scheduled to discuss its results on February 16.
