The annual Interbuild exhibition is gearing up for this year’s event with a partial re-branding.

Last year’s Specifier section of the show, where timber and wood product companies were situated, has been renamed Built Environment Solutions & Technologies (BEST).

It will remain linked to the Onsite section which this year features new zones – kitchens and bathrooms, decorating and finishing, flooring and outdoor area for specialist construction site equipment – as well as the core tools focus.

BEST, which has about 75 exhibitors currently listed on the Interbuild website, will have a strong focus on low carbon, while Sustainability Square will showcase best practice and product solutions.

Last year year Interbuild suffered badly from the construction slump, with exhibitor and visitor figures both 30% lower than 2008 at 443 and around 20,000 respectively. German companies had one of the largest timber sector representations.

Interbuild takes place from October 17-20 at Birmingham NEC.
