Nearly 100 students from 64 companies have now passed through Enterprise Ireland‘s Furncert Award training programme.
The latest batch were given their advanced programme certificates during an awards ceremony in Mullingar.
Furncert was devised by Enterprise Ireland in conjunction with the University of Limerick, Dublin Institute of Technology and the Furniture Technology Centre, Letterfrack, in order to stimulate skills in the furniture and wood industries.
Peter Brennan, of Enterprise Ireland, said: “The furniture industry is facing a variety of significant challenges over the coming decade. Central to the industry’s ability to meet these challenges is the quality and skills level of its management and workforce.”
