The rise of wood fibre insulation has led ITW Industry to offer the Haubold 29000 heavy-duty stapler series in the UK.
The pneumatic stapler is designed to fix wood fibre insulation up to 150mm thick to timber fame studs.
German wood fibre insulation manufactuer Steico specifies stapled fixings for its range of products, which are now being sold in the UK.
Steico UK technical manager Andrew Pocock said the staple offered many advantages over conventional screwed fixings due to fast and easy application and high withdrawal capacity.
“A staple will spread the load over the board surface in such a way that it causes minimal damage to the board face and enable fixings to be positioned closer to the board edge,” he said.
Mr Pocock said staples were particularly effective for use with its PROTECT External Thermal Insulation Composite Sytem.
“A staple is shown to produce minimal thermal bridging and sits flush with the board face making the render application an easier and faster process.”
The Haubold 29000 series incorporates an internal guidance system to ensure staple legs remain parallel as they are driven into the material. Large capacity magazines hold up to 120 staples at a time.
