With the advent of the Construction Products Directive (CPD), EN 13986, which came into force on April 1, James Latham has asked its suppliers to mark products to show they are fully compliant.
Chris Sutton, director of the panel products division, said: “The products we believe need to be compliant include particleboard, OSB, MDF, softwood plywood including Finnish spruce, and hardwood plywood, which includes Finnish birch.”
He said all suppliers have been asked to stamp compliant product, but as a minimum, all packaging around the product should carry the CE mark showing conformity with CPD requirements.
All compliant products will be identified on delivery notes to customers, and James Latham depot staff have been trained and are fully aware of CPD requirements should there be a query.
