JELD-WEN has manufactured its 25,000th door for a major housing project in Sheffield.
Sheffield Decent Homes is the country’s largest project under the government’s Decent Homes Standard, and intends to improve the city’s council housing provision.
This saw JELD-WEN contracted to supply 80,000 doors over five years, one of the largest door contracts ever awarded.
Supplied through Arnold Laver and fitted by Kier Sheffield, the doors are complete with numbers, hinges and knockers and meet Secured by Design standards.
“The contract with Sheffield Homes allowed us to build our composite door operation in Sheffield two years ago, providing further employment opportunities within the local area,” said JELD-WEN general manager Martin Crowther.
