JELD-WEN has set up a regional distribution network to speed deliveries to its smaller local merchant customers.

The eight companies are all volume customers of JELD-WEN doors and will act as distribution centres for the company’s moulded and veneered doors. They are Ridgeons, Archibalds, Alsford Timber, Arnold Laver, Robert Price, Rembrandt, DCB and XL Joinery.

JELD-WEN sales director Adrian Wade said: “With rising fuel prices and delivery costs, we believe this is a much better way.”

David Oldfield of Arnold Laver, distributors for Yorkshire, the north-east and Berkshire, said: “The response so far has been very positive and we are expecting to see an increase in door sales over the coming months.”
