JELD-WEN has been awarded International Safety Awards at four of its manufacturing facilities, which highlight its “robust health and safety policy”, according to the firm.

JELD-WEN’s frame and stair facilities in Melton Mowbray and its Sheffield and Lowestoft operations were given the awards by the British Safety Council, with representatives from the four locations attending a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel to receive the accreditations.

“[The awards] are testament to the hard work of our staff in developing a health and safety culture across our manufacturing sites,” said JELD-WEN group health and safety facilitator Keith Claydon.

“[We] recognise how important this is to minimise risks, reduce accidents and ensure a more secure working environment for all concerned.”

The British Safety Council Awards recognise companies that have accident incidence rates below the national average and demonstrate a commitment to “sound safety policies and plans”.
