Black oak floors from Junckers have played a starring role in the new pan-European corporate identity of kitchen company Gaggenau.

The new look, which calls for white walls and a dark timber floor and was designed by Gaggenau’s head of design Reinhard Seigers, has been used in the company’s new information centre in Wigmore Street, London.

Junckers Black Oak is solid 14mm oak which offers the aesthetic of walnut but is harder, less costly and easier to source. It is ammonia fumed, using vacuum impregnation to drag the colour deep into the wood, enabling it to be sanded and resealed without losing colour.
