Kalmar Industries has secured an agreement to supply and maintain the handling equipment at SCA Timber‘s Tunadal sawmill.
Under the deal, Sweden-based Kalmar supply three new RTD 1623 logstackers, as well as one second-hand unit; and eight DCE 150-12 15-tonne forklifts. These will be serviced and maintained as part of the deal, alongside five wheel-mounted loaders with 30-tonne capacities and a 12-tonne wheel loader already in use at the site.
Kalmar will also take charge of the supply and training of drivers and operators for the machinery.
“Our comprehensive approach, which means we assume responsibility for SCA’s machines, maintenance programme and drivers, will allow the customer to focus on its core business of wood processing,” said Sten-Arne Sjöberg, regional manager at Kalmar Sweden.
