Chief executive officer and founder Charles Walton beat tough competition from some of the most innovative, successful and spirited entrepreneurs in Nottinghamshire.
The annual awards ceremony is a celebration of the county’s best companies, who are putting the region on the map by boosting the economy and making a positive contribution to the local community.
Winning the award commends Mr Walton’s individual achievements, the results returned by his company and his unique approach to the sector.
Trading under the brand names BillyOh.com and GardenBuildingsDirect.co.uk, Mr Walton launched Kybotech in April 1999 and became one of the first shed retailers to sell online. The e-commerce company now employs over 220 people around the world and has an annual turnover of over £20m.
The company sells around 165,000 sheds, log cabins, play houses, summer houses, workshops, and greenhouses direct to customers across the UK each year, from a range of over 800 buildings.
“I’m over the moon to have been awarded this prestigious accolade, but I must say I felt like I was accepting the prize on behalf of the entire Kybotech team,” said Mr Walton.
