Lantra, the Sector Skills Council for the trees and timber industry, is seeking feedback about its proposed trees and timber apprenticeships.
A working group comprising trees and timber employers, trade associations and educational institutions has been working with Lantra to formulate the content of the proposed apprenticeships for Scotland, England and Wales.
The apprenticeship in Trees and Timber would comprise a National Vocational Qualification or Scottish Vocational Qualification, certificates of competence in chainsaws and the safe use of pesticides; employability skills such as communication and IT.
The industry consultation document giving details about proposed apprenticeships is available at www.lantra.co.uk.TreesTimber. It also features a short questionnaire, giving people the opportunity to share their views.
