Young people will be encouraged to learn about trees and timber at the SkillCity careers opportunities event in Manchester on November 13-16.
Lantra, the Sector Skills Council for the Environmental and Land-based Sector, is teaming up with the Department for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs to run a stand at the Salford Quays event promoting careers in the environmental and land-based industries. A trees and timber zone will feature a chance to try decay testing equipment used in the forestry and wood industries.
The event, organised by the Prince’s Trust and UK Skills for 14-25 year-olds, is expected to attract about 80,000 people.
