Hosted by James Latham managing director Chris Sutton and HR director Piers Latham, it was also attended by John Park, chairman of the Wood Technology Society of the IOM3, who presented the certificates to the successful candidates.

Jan Antonovics, commercial manager at TFT Woodexperts Ltd, which conducted the training, was also among the guests.

The successful candidates at the event were Toby Hughff – Leeds depot, Dan Waterman - Fareham, Dominic Manfredini – Leeds, Alex Henson – Fareham, Tom Jones – Leeds, Gareth O’Connell – Wigston, Ben Jenn – LDT, Westerham, and Dean Taylor, Gateshead.

Ryan Hall from Gateshead was also successful, but was unable to attend.

Mr Park said the newly qualified group were “some of the unique few in the UK with such a qualification who can now call themselves a wood specialist”.

“It is important to have the best-trained staff, to be able to employ new technologies, which also leads to better job satisfaction, morale and motivation," Piers Latham added.
