Nick Hubbard, HR business partner for doorset manufacturer Leaderflush Shapland, has completed a 225-mile bike ride in aid of charity.
Mr Hubbard was part of a team of 10 who cycled from Whitehaven in the Lakes to Bridlington on a two-day coast to coast challenge which covered some of the steepest hill climbs in the country. The team was raising money for Calum’s Cabin, a charity based on the Isle of Bute that offers a retreat to help support families coping with child cancer sufferers.
Mr Hubbard raised £720 of the £3,000 the team donated to the charity.
He and the team were raising money for a local Ilkeston family whose daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour in December 2008 and died after nine months of intensive treatment. Calum’s Cabin helped support her parents and continues to offer support to families in a similar position.
