Union leaders at the plant in Barnstaple say they are ” devastated ” by the news
A statement from Leaderflush Shapland said it was with “considerable regret” that it was proposing a phased transfer of manufacturing at Barnstaple to the headquarters in Nottingham.
“We can confirm the sales, commercial and specialist support functions (design) are not affected and will be retained in the Barnstaple area,” a spokesperson said.
Union bosses described the news as devastating, as Leaderflush is one of the largest employers in the town.
Leaderflush made more than 100 workers redundant in 2009.
