Nineteen apartments will be constructed above a new adult learning centre in Newham for the London Borough of Newham and the East Thames Housing Group.
The main contractor is Higgins Construction working to a design by Sprunt Architects, in which two storeys of timber frame apartments will stand above a reinforced-concrete structure housing the ground-floor education centre.
Marlows, of Bury St Edmunds, will provide a complete timber structure. The work is expected to be completed in March 2008.
