Plans are afoot to revive Liberia’s timber industry.
The United Nations will seek US$600-700m for reconstruction projects to help Liberia recover from 20 years of war.
Among these will be the re-establishment of a timber industry which could not work because of timber sanctions and there are hopes of creating managed forestry programmes within the next two years.
