The long span potential of I-joists has been demonstrated in a new Cheshire community centre.
Frame Wise used Boise I-joists in the 550m2 roof of the Wharton Library and Community Centre, which required spans of up to 12-metres.
Architect Atkins invited Frame Wise and its supply chain partner Boise to be involved in the early stages of the project, making it possible to fine tune the timber structure’s design.
The entire structure was erected in just three weeks.
