Lorient Polyproducts Ltd is one of the first manufacturers to achieve the new CERTIFIRE schedule TS35 which supersedes the previous CERTIFIRE schedule TS11 for fire seals.

To meet the requirements of TS35, the Newton Abbott-based company had to show more stringent production controls and a more thorough auditing process.

Products submitted for CERTIFIRE – the accredited independent product conformity scheme operated by Warrington Certification Ltd – must also now initially undergo more extensive pressure, expansion and humidity testing than previously, along with a defined fire test to either BS or EN standards.

Door manufacturers wishing to promote a CERTIFIRE approved fire door or doorset will be required to include only fireseals and combined fire and smoke seals approved to the new TS35 schedule by July 1.
