The timber systems division of housebuilder Mactaggart & Mickel has reported sales of £2.2m for the year ending April 30, 2011.

Capacity was increased in the operation after it won a contract to build 288 athletes’ village homes for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The wider Mactaggart & Mickel group reported a 10% growth in pre-tax profits to £4.26m, while turnover was up 19% to £48.1m.

“Our cautiously optimistic outlook for the year ahead reflects the wider industry conditions with constrained mortgage lending expected to continue,” said chief executive Ed Monaghan.
