Two major contracts worth almost £2m have been won by Northern Irish modular and prefabricated timber frame building manufacturer McAvoy Group.

The company is to design, manufacture and build offices, staff accommodation and wards at St Loman’s hospital, Lucan and classrooms and a lecture theatre at St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra – both in the Republic of Ireland.

The St Loman’s contract – the second won by the group in Dublin in the past year – is worth more than £1.5m and is one of the largest projects of its kind undertaken by the group in the Republic.

The McAvoy Group has been targeting the Republic for the past four years and it now accounts for 40% of its business.

Company contracts director Partick McAvoy said: ‘The contract at St Loman’s is particularly significant as it follows our successful completion of administrative and ward blocks at St Vincent’s hospital, also in Dublin.’
