Declining overseas markets for timber products and competition from cheaper producers will be among issues raised at the two-day Malaysia Timber Marketing Convention to be held in Kuala Lumpur on September 24-25.

More than 200 delegates are expected at the event organised by the Malaysian Timber Council.

Items on the agenda include whether small and medium scale industries are ready for globalisation and Malaysian’s reluctance to use wood based products in the home despite their being environmentally friendly.
