A M$23.1m industrial complex in Samarahan, Malaysia, has been completed with the aim of producing more ‘small and medium size entrepreneurial businesses’ in the timber industry.

Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) will use the complex to provide training, technical advisory services and product development, marketing and contracts for participating entrepreneurs. It is particularly aimed at furniture makers.

STIDC has allocated a further M$88.4m for similar complexes in Kapit, Limbang, Bintulu and Tanjung Manis, plus a furniture gallery in Samariang.
